     Both the author and illustrator welcome invitations for book readings, signings and other personal appearances.  Book clubs and writers’ groups may find interesting the pair’s learning experiences in developing a book.  They will be happy to make personal appearances - even though Tico has been denied entrance to some public and private places, and special arrangements may have to be made in his behalf.

    In his book this half moon conure gives a bird’s eye view of what life is like as a pampered pet parrot.  His story begins with his flight from Texas to Baltimore and continues with incidents from his daily life - both dramatic and amusing.

     Carol Atkinson Durr, a.k.a. Tia Tica, is the illustrator of Tico’s book.  In her color pencil drawings she captures the antics and foibles of her feathered friend.
